JOE CHARTER MUSIC INTERVIEW

Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail…

I was with my brother, Jerry, as a teenager in Las Vegas. We had tickets to see the J.Geils Band and Foghat together. I remember having chills as the bass vibrated through the venue. The music, the energy, the crowd, I just loved it all. My brothers are all talented musicians in their own right and music has always been part of our family. I have many memories of myself and my brothers playing instruments and rocking out in our basement in Wheaton, Illinois.

Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist?

I am determined to produce a top 10 hit before I die, and intend on being the oldest artist in history to do so! I plan to collaborate this effort through major studios in Nashville or Muscle Shoals, Alabama. In addition, I am working on producing three cover tunes this year.

Roger Daltrey has always been one of my favorite singer/songwriters. Even though his vocals are not as strong, his songs always impressed me. The creativity and passion of the lyrics are amazing! Led Zeppelin’s “In Through the Outdoor” is another record I love for its unique songs and creative flairs.

I wrote the song “Hard Look” with my late mother in mind. As kids we do dumb things and mothers like mine keep us in line while still having great love for us. It is away to honor her and all mothers.

Definitely headlining the International DeLorean Car Show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which was attended by thousands of people. I had a set of back up line dancers that choreographed a dance to my song "Delorean" released 2006.
